About Foxwood

Foxwood, Inc. is a small cabinet shop owned and operated by Matt Surprise, in the high desert city of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Foxwood has produced hand-crafted custom cabinets and millwork for both residential and commercial clientele since 1997. Whether collaborating with a neighborhood sign company on a museum display or building cabinetry for a kitchen, Matt and his dedicated crew are always striving for the best craftsmanship, creative problem-solving and design expertise to deliver a truly functional, beautiful product for you.

A graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, Matt came to Santa Fe with a major in printmaking, but soon developed an appreciation for furniture making and cabinetry. He learned this trade from David Samora, of Samora Woodworks, who hired, trained and mentored Matt in traditional southwest cabinetry and millwork. Many years later, Matt struck out on his own and started Foxwood. From rustic, hand-carved cabinets for old adobe kitchens to sustainable bamboo, exotic veneers or textured foils for contemporary spaces, he strives to capture each client’s taste and budget,

Today, approaching 25 years of experience, Foxwood works closely with you, the client, to produce custom cabinetry for your new construction or renovation project, providing comfort for years to come.
